Krissykins
Guru is saying $41.9m for The Conjuring based on a strong sunday (not sure if that is a new estimate, or actuals) The more the merrier. Excellent.
rockNrollaDIM
Also heard great things about Conjuring. Hearing it's one of the best horror movies in years.
A Marvel Fanboy
WB is stupid if they dont make a third SH. Every original/nonsequel flops. Whatever a sequel, as long as a sequel, it is safer than a nonsequel. WB should make a Hangover 4.

RichWS
It’s one of Hollywood’s more bizarre business realities: Young women can make or break horror movies at the box office. This weekend, they made a hit of the R-rated and intensely creepy “The Conjuring,” which dominated with a $41 million debut. It's audience: 53 percent female and 59 percent under 25. That’s similar to another screamfest, “The Purge,” which opened at No. 1 with $35 million last month and was 56 percent female and 56 percent under 25. And it’s not a blip. “Mama” drew a crowd that was 61 percent women, 63 percent under 25 when it topped the box office in January, and young women were more than half the audience for “Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” another horror film that hit No. 1 that month. http://www.thewrap.com/movies/article/box-office-how-horror-films-conjuring-win-scaring-young-women-104901

Women go to the movies to see horror films. And guess what? They'll be there to see Carrie too.
