grim22
Based on the performance of Straight Outta Compton, if F. Gary Gray wants it, he will get it.
RichWS
It's amazing how far Louis Leterrier has gone in his career. I'm like 80% sure he's just a dude who wanders onto sets and has no clue how to make movies. It's a real life version of Kramer getting that "job" at Brandt Leland.
BadAtGender
Why all the hate on Leterrier? He's pretty pedestrian as a director. The first Transporter is enjoyable, but it also had Corey Yuen co-directing. The second film was all Leterrier and was a pretty decided step down. Chewy
In a lot of ways, doing Vin Diesel's bidding for the next decade is a fitting career peak for Leterrier. Like David Yates taking Daniel Potter's orders for all those years

Ethan Hunt
He did just make Now You see Me which you know was a big success and has remained pretty popular in the couple of years since (not to mention the movie is pretty decent)
RichWS
Calling it now, it'll be F Gary Gray. Not if Marvel steps up. I know this speaks more to the lack of black filmmakers, but it does bother me how it's so assumed he'll get the call to make Black Panther (and probably not any other superhero movie).
RichWS
Whoever the director is, Diesel's gonna write a long-winded but passionate Facebook post about how his grandmother's ghost appeared and told him who to hire.

My favorite Vin Diesel anecdote is that he wore stilts to the Guardians of the Galaxy premiere even tho everyone was like "please don't do that". And then he hurt himself on them and skipped out on the press

Fancyarcher
Louis Leterrier is like any studio hack. He generally makes safe and uninteresting films.
MovieMan89
I really hope it's F Gary Gray over the other 2. Yet to like a Leterrier film and Wingard could be a disaster.

grim22
F Gary Gray sitting down with Vin Diesel later today. If he wants to do it, he'll get it. He's in an enviable position amongst candidates. — Jeff Sneider (@TheInSneider) October 5, 2015

Groot wasn't even mo-capped by a guy on stilts
The Futurist
But why? He did not even do any motion capture for Groot. Groot wasn't even mo-capped by a guy on stilts Because Vin Diesel is METHOD. He spent a week recording his GROOTs and he had his stilts the whole time to be in character.
