grey ghost
As an actor I can see him not caring about box office. That's not his job. That's for the suits to worry about. The producers, and studio execs. When or if he becomes a producer he will care about it then, lol.Box office determines what parts and scripts he has access to.For example, if Ashton had been in a few blockbusters he would be able to pick and choose from far more projects.Instead his best offer was probably Jobs, lol. grey ghost
Watch his speech at the Teen Choice awards and you'll see why he doesn't care about box office. There are more important things. It's actually an amazing speech. There are more important things than the superbowl.I still wouldn't call following sports ”stupid”.Especially if I were a famous and wealthy athlete.

Well maybe he likes his career path? I don't know I don't follow him that much. I've only seen him in comedies. So I don't know what kind of potential he has for dramatic roles. TLK
Actors who have made it in Hollywood usually don't give a fuck about Box Office unless they are also producing the movie. Even some producers like Clooney say they keep the budget low so as to make Box Office irrelevant. BoxOffice @BoxOffice 8m Early weekend projections: BUTLER $25 mil; KICK-ASS 2 $18.5 mil; JOBS $11.5 mil; PARANOIA $5.5 mil

Captain Craig
Wolverine Aug 15, 2013 $823,846 So sitting just over $116m domestic now. Do we know theater loss for TW this weekend? I'd like to think it might do $5m this weekend to get it over $120m or to budget anyway. I'm spying $130m for a landing now since last weeks huge 1,000 theater loss helped stomp out $140m. Jack Nevada
Interesting. Kick-Ass 2 is three points higher (28%) than Jobs (25%) but the latter has a better average rating.
TLK
First Kick Ass movie made $100 million WW. Mark Millar said in an interview that they made another $140 million from DVD/Bluray sales etc and they have kept the budget low for this one. The movie is guaranteed to be a success with a $18-20 million opening.
Sam
Not really. Its budget is only 28 million.Oh, I mean compare to what the first one opened to I guess. It will be a success for sure what that budget.
Jack Nevada
The first Kick-Ass seems like one of those movies that isn't going to have a very long lasting appeal. Everyone had a huge boner for it in 2010 but now it rarely comes up.

That's not the same thing. If he had called movies stupid, then you'd have a point. But he didn't. Many actors are not in it to be a box office king, they're in it to have fun or be an artist. grey ghost
That's not the same thing. If he had called movies stupid, then you'd have a point. But he didn't. Many actors are not in it to be a box office king, they're in it to have fun or be an artist. But without the big blockbusters there would be less money to invest in smaller projects for actors to use as passion projects. Movies like Avengers and The Hobbit allow movies like Jobs to get funded and widely distributed. So maybe box office isn't so stupid.
