Lordmandeep
Weekdays estimate is too blulish but 150 by Sunday seems right. Dont see it dropping below 36 million this weekend. Thor 2 is fine Even with a 60% drop against CF which I doubt it should be near 200 million after Thanksgiving.
grey ghost
Can't Thor 2 hit 200 m by Catching Fire's OW?
kayumanggi
10 M is good. Maybe a 230 M finish?
kitik
Can't Thor 2 hit 200 m by Catching Fire's OW? Doubtful. These numbers seem likely: 112 by this Thursday + 40 = 152 after the weekend + 14 = 166 after first 2 weeks + 20 = 186 after Catching Fire's OW
Dementeleus
I don't think it hits 40m this weekend, but we'll see how the weekly drops go.
John Marston
40m? I believe that would be a better hold than Skyfall. Unlikely imo
CaptainJackSparrow
X Men 2 barely made 40 mil in it's second weekend.

Unlikely imo And I was actually thinking that it's more likely to be at 111 by Thursday than 112. Suffice it to say, it's going to be a big challenge to hit 150 on Sunday. And 200 by Catching Fire's OW is obviously impossible.
Chewy
40m? I believe that would be a better hold than Skyfall. Unlikely imo Same hold. Well, 39.9 would be the same hold.
Lordmandeep
Remember whatever it makes 3rd weekend... It will at worst stay flat over the 5-day thanksgiving Holiday. So 200 million By Thanksgiving seems certain. Edited November 12, 2013 by Lordmandeep
baumer
A 55% drop seems doable, and that would give it about 39 mill for the weekend.
lab276
As of Sunday, this is Universal's biggest year, 1327.2m vs 1323.9m by the end of 2012.
grey ghost
As of Sunday, this is Universal's biggest year, 1327.2m vs 1323.9m by the end of 2012. This year Universal brought out all their biggest draws (Fast/Furious and Despicable Me). Last year Sony brought out all of theirs (MIB, Spidey, Bond).
Accursed Arachnid!™
Good for Thor, but personally, I don't see it getting 40m+ this weekend. That will probably become more clear after we see today and tomorrow's numbers.

Last year Sony brought out all of theirs (MIB, Spidey, Bond). 2012 is Sony's dream year. MIB & SPIDEY take no effort to make but SKYFALL is a classy Bond. This year on the other hand... Captain Craig
@giteshpandya2m #Thor smashing $100M today after mighty $10.4M VeteransDay MON. Shd reach about $118M going into 2nd wknd & break $150M SUN. I recall saying $115m and was told that may be a tad high. Be kinda cool if I'm about spot on, between gitesh and the $112m mentioned as "more likely".

baumer
I don't see why Thor is going to have a monumental drop next weekend when Katniss comes out. Here's 2009 when both New Moon and The Blind Side came out. The drops for a lot of movies ranged between 45-65%. But some of the bigger drops were for horror films and of course for 2012 in its second weekend. I think Thor will hold up just fine. http://boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/?yr=2009&wknd=47&p=.htm
