Pixar is 1 while others are not in definitive order. They are good but I couldn't decide which one is better.

Yeah, but Pixar/WDAS/Dreamworks/Illumination aren't really doing the same thing as Weta/ILM etc. Seems weird to compare them.

WDAS/dw/illuminati might not, but pixar is definitely working best in vfx department.

For example, piper incorporate same light ray technique as rogue one. And pixar is the reason that has reached such a jaw dropping level.

Many studios, actually almost all still use the same hair vfx that pixar invented for monster inc.

In film vfx studios pixar is the only one that can compete with game studios after 2010.

Pixar and to an extent WDAS has really pushed the boundaries of CG Animation which is why their film cost more compared to Illumination or WAG.

ILM and WETA are the top dogs but there are other VFX companies like MPC who have stunning work.

Hope Spidey's potentially strong 2nd weekend doesn't take away much from this movie's ow. There's no biggie post Dunkirk and will have plenty of opportunity to make up lost ground if wom is great.

Apart from this, how many non-CBM, non-animation movies not called Star Wars have a shot at 200 dom this year? This could be the only one of 2017 to do 200+.

Valeri- oh wait that's a CBM.

Also, Dunkirk and IT.

so you are saying one out of those 3 have a shot :P

and it starts with the letter D and not even saying that will do it either

Yeah. Releasing in the wake of SM and Apes I think for D to match Interstellar's ow is the high-end. Then needs 4x (better than Interstellar's November legs) to do 200.

IT could open big and have Conjuring like legs but then what's the max ow? 50-60 if it breaks out. Then 3x for a horror is like 4-4.5x for a non-horror. That would help it match Get Out.

So Apes seems to be only legit shot at 200.

Yes, that's the reason we shouldn't consider it.

Yeah, I guess. Though it's often the least-liked among the fanbase (and rightly so).

Yeah me too. Liked FOTR and TT more than ROTK. But ROTK's also great.

TDKR was a very good three-quel.

But War of Apes could be a legit great three-quel better than it's predecessors. Fingers crossed.
