The Amazing Spider-Man ensnared global audiences on 18,400 screens in a total of 74 markets as a muscular second wave through Sony Pictures Releasing International boosted the early running total to $201.6m. The result combined with the six-day North American launch for a $341.6m global tally.

Spidey grossed $18.1m in the UK from 1,560 screens to finish within a few percentage points of the Spider-Man 3 debut. It took $10.8m in Russia from 1,107, $9.6m in Mexico from 2,506 for the industry’s sixth biggest debut in history, $8m in France from 902 and $7.9m from 1,213 in the second weekend in South Korea where the film stands at $25.2m.

The webslinger opened in Australia on $7.5m from 578, Brazil on $6.9m on 826 for the industry’s eleventh biggest debut, Italy on $5.7m from 830, Spain on $4.1m from 577 and Indonesia on an extraordinary $4.5m from 346 for the biggest industry debut of all time. The UAE generated $2.1m from 97 for the third biggest industry launch in history.

Second weekends in Japan and Germany generated $4.4m from 1,092 for $20.7m and $3.5m from 918 for $9.6m, respectively.

The superhero reboot grossed $10m from 137 international IMAX screens through Sunday (8) and the IMAX global tally stands at $24.1m. The Amazing Spider-Man arrives in 15 new markets this week.

Fox International reported an $80.6m second weekend for Ice Age: Continental Drift from 10,964 screens in 48 markets as the early international running total climbed to a mighty $198m.

Germany generated $14.5m from 1,178 in the biggest debut of the year-to-date and the industry’s second biggest animated launch behind Ice Age 3, while France produced $9.1m from 1,030 for $24.2m, Mexico $5.9m from 1,956 for $25.9m, Brazil $5.7m from 897 for $17.6m and Australia $4.9m from 564 for $15.8m.

The animation debuted top in Holland in $2.5m from 277 and Austria $2.3m from 183 and scored the second biggest industry weekend in Argentina on $3.5m from 284 for $9.3m, Colombia on $2.1m from 273 for $7.8m and Chile on $1.6m from 135 for $5m.

Peru generated the industry’s biggest second weekend for an animated film on $1.5m from 185 for $5.7m as did Central America on $1.1m from 199 for a $4.2m running total.

The weekend total includes $5.4m in nationwide previews from the UK where the preview tally has reached $11.6m.

Bollywood release Bol Bachchan grossed $11.8m from 2,324 screens in nine markets including a $10.3m debut in India for the fourth biggest industry launch of 2012. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter stands at $25.3m following a $5.3m session and Prometheus has reached $172.6m.

DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar 3 added $6.4m through Paramount Pictures International from 6,291 cinemas in 43 countries to boost the running total to $257.5m.

Russia has generated $48m, Brazil $27.4m, Mexico $24.1m, France $21.6m, Argentina $14.6m and South Korea $10.1m.

Katy Perry: Part Of Me in 3D opened in four countries on $2.3m from 608 theatres, securing a number four UK launch on $707,000 from 319 cinemas. It has taken $1.4m over seven days from 245 Australian sites. The Dictator stands at $92.9m and arrived in South Africa on $157,000 from 45 cinemas.

Universal Pictures International reported that Ted grossed $15m from its first international forays, grossing $8.6m from 228 in Australia and rising to $13.1m including previews. It opened top in the market for Universal’s biggest debut of all time. The comedy opened top in Taiwan on $1.9m from 55 sites.

Snow White And The Huntsman added $8.5m from 5,100 venues in 60 territories and crossed $200m to reach $204.8m. The fantasy adventure stands at $15.9m in Australia after three weekends and $18.2m in Japan after four.

The Five-Year Engagement has grossed $15m from 10 territories, American Pie: Reunion $176.8m and Moonrise Kingdom $2.7m from the UK.

Brave grossed $4.2m through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International to raise to Pixar’s early tally to $36.6m. The Avengers has reached $843.1m.

4 day weekend in Australia. Ted is now at $13.2m which is around USD13.5. Has a good shot at $40m.
