Even if SAT and SUN stays flat, that will be 1.3M 2nd weekend. 

I don't see how it missed 7M with holidays to come.

Friday is a holiday as well, so it makes sense.

I think Saturday should act as another big day and sunday will be down quite a bit (like 20% or so)

 

I fully agree with Charlies 7m+, with winter holidays comming (07/15-07/26) it still has 2 amazing weeks left in a month or so. If IO can hold well till then (with its biggest competition already opened) it should do great I think.

As others said, Thursday was a holiday but there was an Argentina match at 9PM, which reduced moviegoing after 7PM.

Friday was the most attended day ever (there were 540.000 tickets sold according to reports but 50 screens haven't report their numbers yet, so estimates should be above 600k tickets). Previous record was held by June 22nd 2019, aka Toy Story 4 first Saturday, when there were 559k tickets sold

 

Also, article states that some theatres dropped some Despicable Me 4 showtimes and those were given to Inside Out 2

DM4 open to 3.5m, it doesn't look any lower compared to other entry in franchise facing insane second weekend of IO2. This past weekend surely must be one of the busiest weekend in Argentina's cinema.

So TS4 did 6.7M after 1.64M weekend right?

 

Well it had a holiday on THU & FRI as well, no Copa America game clash and no DM4 as competition.

 

On same weekend, IO2 will probably do 1.2M.

 

If IO2 repeat 4.1x multi from this weekend, it will reach 6.7M, matching TS4.

 

But then you have all the above factors I listed and the fact that its second weekend of IO2 not first like TS4.

 

I think 7M is a lock here. We need to see if it hit 8M.
