Damn! My stupid sister saw Expendables 3 last night.

She's the smart one. It's a very entertaining movie. I enjoyed it more than GOTG.

Any news how the Inbetweeners is performing this weekend ?

 

I'm thinking that GOTG will hold onto #1 for a 3rd weekend ... looking for a weekend >> 3m.

 

the first inbetweeners managed 2.8m.   I don't think it's userbase has increased from the first film given it only went on to make 8.7m.   I'm thinking around 2m opening here for the sequel putting it in 2nd behind the 3rd weekend of GOTG.

Doctor who is screening around the country again this weekend. My site is looking like it's going to be very busy with it, easily $10,000+ PTA

It's getting even worse reviews although it is set in Australia. Frankly, I never saw the appeal.

 

barely ever watched the series, haven't even seen the first film... little interest in seeing this one either... 

 

problem with these kind of films is typically they badly reviewed anyway due to the target audience.  they are almost usually critic proof for the GA.  

 

In saying that, I just don't see this performing well no matter where it's based.

Do you speak of US$ or AUS$? The chart is in AUS$, but I think as it is still on #2 it will reach US$20m too

Guardian's is on track for a total > 25m AUD at the moment... 30m is out of reach right now, but that's gonna look pretty impressive given it will be the 4th biggest film of the year and if it could get to 27m then only the lego movie would still be above it.

Only info I have for the weekend gone so far is, 

 

- "If I stay" is currently the highest opener of the weekend in 4th spot with around 1.1m USD.

 

At a guess i'd say the top 5 looks like:

 

1 / 2 Inbetweeners 2

1 / 2 Guardian's of the Galaxy

3 100 foot journey

4 If I stay

5 Lucy ?
