All these are LIES, the script of Avatar is not bad and for what Marvel does and what they intend to do (and specially as they develop like a TV series but on theaters) they are good and no better or worse than Avatar.

I'm not really saying it's bad. I don't think so. I just don't think it's tradionally what's called a good script. That's not really Cameron's thing, it's not what he's aiming for, which if fine. As for Marvel, I'm sure they do what they intend, they know their audience by now and they know exactly what pulls people to the theater. Again, it's not what one would call strong writing.

If you do what you wanted to do it is strong writing not everything has to be written like an academy award drama, or an Scorcese Movie.

Movie itself was visually awesome, but there’s nothing really groundbreaking about the BO run yet.

But I do love the Walter Mitty GIF.

The bo run is just beginning. And to hit 2b plus ww after a 13 year break is groundbreaking  in this pandemic Era brother Dajk. Only a nostalgia fueled Spiderman has come close to doing it, but missed the mark by a shave.

Thanks on the gif. Love all those moments.

Tinatic has a good script and the Avatar movies too for what they intend to do. What do these people that are always talking about Cameron Scriptwriting when is sharp, to the point and quotable want, pseudo philosophy like they do on their supposed good scripts. Do their scripts have Hasta La Vista, baby?

I mean ALIENS has always been one of the most quotable movies ever in nerd fandom.

Camerons writing is fine. The kids in A2 talk like real kids do. The mercs talk all 'gung ho' as it fits their characters. poeple may find that bad writing but i think it fits those characters.

Both AVATAR movies are very much on the visible side, the beauty, with plots and characters to go along with that. cameron obviously wants us to marvel over the beauty of nature, and both AVATAR films smash that goal.

People think Jake's arc is just learned to protect his family. The real lesson - and Cameron's message to us - is that the world and creatures around us are part of our "family" as well and need to be protected. In a sense, Jake represents us humans here on Earth today. We've been running away and avoiding the problem for too long.

There is quote (its also in the trailer, so no spoiler).

"The way of water has no beginning and no end. The sea (water) is around you and in you (we are mainly made of water). The sea (water) is your home, before your birth (amniotic fluid) and after your death (groundwater)"

Water is the most important substance in the universe regarding life. Without water their is no life. When astrophysicist search for extraterristrial life on exoplanets in the habitable zone, they are looking primary for water. Some organisms called extremophiles can life in most extrem conditions, no sunlight, no oxygen, extreme heat, extreme cold and so. But even those organisms cant exist without water.

So i think the main message of this movie is "Water is life" protect water at all cost.

This is the way to the BO glory of invincibility of Camerons last 2 outings and he's doing it again my brother..

Woohoo😎

It would be funny of the film get 2

100-150-250+

USD in places like india and SK and other territorries and still ends up with 2b+ OS. What did NWH make in India and SK btw. Anyone know offhand?

" To Live Here!"  " You have to Ride!,

500m in 4 DAYS!.

300M Domestic in 12-14 days?

"I See You!"

I don't normally pay much attention to the weather relative to box office performance, but the upcoming winter storm is described as a "once in a generation" type event. In Canada it's just another Wednesday, but in the US it seems like it's going to be ugly for the next few days.

It'll be amazing if numbers can keep up with Rogue One in the next few days but no panic if they don't.

All things considered.

In addition to being a great movie, The Way of Water is doing pretty Great.

I like how everyone went from "this is an easy $2B movie"  to "anything near it is good!".

So if the film made say 1.8bil, you would think thats 'bad' under the current circumstances?.

I mean i said 2bil was locked, but that was hen i thought China would be doing 600-800mil, not the 150-200mil it may well do now. with whats happening over there.
