Star Wars was released in 4,100 theaters. Each Avatar and Star Wars was released in lot of theaters. It won't make a difference. Anyone who wanted to see Avatar had a chance to see Avatar.

All this talk of theater counts is beside the point. There's only 700 or so different between the two release, and if you look

at per theater averages, SW is significantly higher than AVATAR... so it's all moot.

I just cannot see this coming close to the hype and BO phenomenon of the first one.

Maybe if it will look like no other movie has looked before... But I don't see that perfect storm happening for this again. I am really not sure the GA needs a franchise of this ....but what do I know.

It will definetly meet expectations coming in, you can be sure of the quality of the film and it being visually better than the first.

 

This will be the first James Cameron blockbuster sequel, the sequel to the highest grossing film of all time. I'm certain it will perform internationally. I predict no less than 2.2b
