Weekend Numbers (3/28 - 3/30) Noah 44M Divergent 26.5

Recommended Posts

Yeah, it's too bad cause I like Arnold B action movies...Last Stand was a lot of fun.But...it's not working.I just hope it we can get our King Conan movie with an unreasonable budget before all this damages any possibility of it happening.Unfortunately, I think the damage has been done. I'm not getting my King Conan.

If Terminator 5 is a hit, King Conan will happen. You can take that to the bank. Edited by grey ghost

Fast Five $86,198,765

Okay Thanks. Yeah there will be some meltdowns then. lol.

Even if it's an improvement on the first. Yeah I can see it.

But it should do around that much at the very least.  I expect at least 90m.

Two things

1. I almost got in an argument with my pastor today when he endorsed God's Not Dead about how the best religious films are ones like Noah that actually attempt to appeal to those outside the faith.

2. On the way back from church, some idiot rear-ended my car and ran. My mom and I couldn't even get a picture, let alone a license plate. What an asshole; I've honestly never heard of someone being involved with a hit and run in real life. Whatever <_<

Walter felt forced in the last movie.I'm glad they didn't center around him again.

There was still way too much of him in this movie.

I wouldn't call it "mediocre" but it did feel like a letdown after '11. The human cast especially left a lot to be desired and the first half was a bit slow I thought (especially for kids).

I just imagined how much better it would've been with Christoph Waltz and Simon Pegg instead of Ty Burrell and Ricky Gervais. That said, Burrell was still good, but knowing Waltz had almost been cast in the role hurt.

What's the record?

Fast Five $86,198,765

ThorTDW opened to 85.7

CATWS is far from guaranteed of breaking the record. Last year lots of folks were predicting TTDW to have a bigger Avengers boost that CATWS because it came out first, and because it featured Loki. People have now mostly forgotten those predictions, and are jumping on the CATWS bandwagon.

Be cautious with the CATWS overpredictions. If it could hit 90 next weekend, that would be beyond outstanding.

I think it's cool that this year is going to shatter the pre-May $100 million movie record. I remember when we'd be lucky if two films made it to the century mark before summer. Then in 2009 there were five.

This year, we already have

Made It

Ride Along

The Lego Movie

300 2

Locks

Divergent

Mr Peabody

Captain America

Should make it

Noah

Rio 2

Outside shot (probably not, but not impossible)

Transcendence

Non-stop

I don't think we'll double the record with 10, but we should at least have 7, maybe 8, which is pretty amazing. I think we could see 40 $100 million films this year.
