Sunday Update (#2): Warner Bros. estimates that The Dark Knight Rises will gross $34.2 million internationally this weekend, bringing its overseas total to $445.3 million. Rises is now pacing 28% ahead of The Dark Knight using 2008 exchange rates at the same point in time and 46% ahead at current exchange rates.

Key markets:

UK (4th w/e): £2.1m (US$3.3m) / £46.2m (US$72.2m)

France (3rd w/e): €2.3m (US$3m) / €20.3m (US$24.8m)

Brazil (3rd w/e): R$6m (US$3m) / R$40.0m (US$19.6m)

Germany (3rd w/e): €2.25m (US$2.8m) / €21.6m (US$26.3m)

Mexico (3rd w/e): Ps 35m (US$2.6m) / Ps 349m (US$26m)

Australia (4th w/e): A$2.5m (US$2.7m) / A$36.6m (US$37.7m)

Japan (3rd w/e): ¥139m (US$1.8m) / ¥1.3b (US$17.2m)

I take Shawn's numbers and I add the numbers in the same markets the same weekend (according BOM):

UK (4th): 3.3 / 72.2 --- TDK (4th): 4.3 / 74.9 --- (It needs 16.8 to outgross TDK)

France (3rd): 3 / 24.8 --- TDK (3rd): 3.3 / 22 --- (It needs 2.7)

Brazil (3rd): 3 / 19.6 --- TDK (3rd): 2.2 / 14.9 --- (It needs 0.55)

Germany (3rd): 2.8 / 26.3 --- TDK (3rd): 3.3 / 22.8 --- (It needs 3.4)

Mexico (3rd): 2.6 / 26 --- TDK (3rd): 2.1 / 20.8 --- (1 million ahead to TDK)

Australia (4th): 2.7 / 37.7 --- TDK (4th): 2.6 / 32.8 --- (It needs 2.1)

Japan (3rd): 1.8 / 17.2 --- TDK (3rd): 0.8 / 11.2 --- (2.6 million ahead to TDK)

TOTAL: 19.2 / 223.8 --- TDK: 18.6 / 199.4

Comparing the same weekends in the 7 countries, TDKR weekend is 3% higher than TDK. And TDKR total is 12% higher than TDK.

UK is the only market behind TDK (Olympics may be the reason) and it won't probably outgross TDK.

Both France and Germany weekends are worse than TDK's, but totals are comfortably higher in the same point. In fact, TDKR will probably be higher in both countries than TDK. TDK grossed 27.5 in France (TDKR needs 2.7 million more), and 29.7 in Germany (TDKR needs 3.4 million more).

TDKR will (probably) outgross TDK in 6 out this 7 markets

Olympics is part of it, but the shitty exchange rate in Britain is also a big part of it. TDK's gross in pounds would be $76m with 2012 exchange rates. With 2008 exchange rates, it's $89m.

I forgot exchange rate factor :o . My fault. So, with today exchange rate and after 4 weekends, TDK would be about 64 million. Meanwhile TDKR is at 72. TDKR is doing better than TDK in UK too :) . Damned exchange rates :angry:
