Klingo
Wtf is up Frozen in Japan? A poster said that 2/3 of moviegoers are female. Hence why its successful there and sustaining it to be number 1.
wileECoyote
Am I reading that right? Cap 2 has taken the domestic crown from Lego? Yes it has. But it's close so actual numbers could change it.
BobbyJohn
She might do an indie movie with Pitt. That could be cool and wouldn't take long to make, and might get decent box office too. Let's hope. At this stage I will take anything lol. I need her to win that 3rd Oscar before she retires from acting forever that's pretty crazy considering Mal was supposed to be appealing specifically to women and even that only had 60%. anyone knows the gender divide for something like Twilight or The Vow? Malf is at least partially performing as a family/animated flick and box office daily changes show it. Plus Jolie has long developed a pull with men thanks to her action flicks Edited June 8, 2014 by BobbyJohn

Dementeleus
Exactly. So how we get Hollywood to stop making dumb rom-com sitcom movies like "The Other Woman"? It didn't pass The Bechdel Test and will end up making 84 million domestic and 190 million globally, with females making up the majority of the movie audience. It just made a big profit on its 35 million dollar budget, so that means they will keep getting made. More ladies need to refuse to see those kinds of movies, and instead focus on the quality ones that are made starring women. You mean the same way most guys need to stop watching crappy action films? It's not going to happen.

grim22
I am more surprised that we are well into June, and the domestic leader is at 255M. 2014 seems to be more about a lot of mid-range performers rather than any huge hits. If TF4 and HTTYD2 don't cross the 300M mark, the only 300M+ earner this year may turn out to be MJ1.
