IDK, I just felt more emotional resonance in both KFP2 and Dragon 2 than I did with their predecessors (although I did get misty-eyed in Dragon 1)

 

I agree with you about the emotional part, Both films went deeper into who Hiccup and Po were, so in that way they were very emotional. I even let out a tear when

That didn't get to me, but I actually cried earlier in the movie

I cried a lot during HTTYD2, so I can't imagine how much I will cry during HTTYD3 if it is going to be really emotional.
