Jack Nevada
Wow, Get on Up is only going to finish at about 40 domestically, even with good reviews. Why aren't more Black audiences and moviegoers going to see this kind of movie other than really stupid crap like Ride Along, Think Like a Man 7, Bad Boys 13, Big Momma's House 5, Tyler Perry's Madea part 17, and others. Spike Lee has said before there is a problem here with African-American audiences often not supporting movies based on real people and real events. Not this shit again. grey ghost
So Paramount is going to probably focus 80's/90's nostalgia while Universal focuses on monster movies. It will be interesting who comes out on top. I'd put my money on Paramount after Turtles opens over 60 m.

Fancyarcher
Instead of Thundercats why not make a live action adaptation of its knock-off Silverhawks. I mean they are humans instead of being cats on two legs.

CoolioD1
I saw the trailers for get on up and it looks like the same goddamn movie Walk Hard parodied a million years ago. I can see why it's not doing well.
The Stingray
So it's like Turtles but with sharks. Yeah, I'd watch that. Too bad it never aired in Sweden.

Why aren't more white audiences going to see Boyhood instead of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Because they don't feel like it
grim22
Looks like TMNT had a 12M OD WW on Thursday. So, it may have a 125M WW OW this week if it holds well.

James Brown simply doesn't strike a nerve anymore.

The Butler - advertised by Oprah and Oprah's fans are mostly White. 42 was half about Jackie Robinson and half about Harrison Ford's character, so it was a movie like The Help that White people also went to see. Fancyarcher
Nothing is wrong with walking cat people. Just ask James Cameron. Cept James Cameron won't be directing The Thundercats movie. Would love to see one, even if it absolutely and likely sucks.
