I'm not surprised "Days of Future Past" is so big in Canada. I'm guessing Wolverine has to be like Batman to Canada or something, right?I've actually always wanted to see yearly box office rankings for different states. What does well in the Bible Belt? In New England? Californians can be as culturally different from Alabamans as France and England. It'd be fun to see.

well in New Eng states GOTG is already #1 for summer next Malef

Well out here superhero films do great, so do sci fi films and Westerns. The only genre that really does poorly here is urban films. (Well Bollywood films don't count :P)

(Galaxy and TASM2 were not that crowded but that was because the theater I went to wasn't as crowded as it was one year earlier due to a new theater opening)

Fantasies do well also here.

The most crowded showings for me this year I think would be Lego and Cap 2.

Of course how crowded a showing is means nothing though. (If it was not for me checking out any websites I would of thought Rango had a 60M OW for example)

The most empty showing on a OW I can think of for me was Ghost Rider 2. (Not including Godzilla 2000 :P)

The market info is very interesting. I'm curious, do you have any info on whether Pacific Rim did better in the Bay Area than nationwide? Because I remember that my opening-night screening basically sold out (though later on OW, I went to a Sunday matinee that was less than half full).

Yep, school is coming back...big drops are coming back.

Yep.  I've got 1 kid going back to school tomorrow and the other starts next wednesday.  Is there a rule of thumb on how much it affects weekday #s, or is it just an approximate "weekdays, especially anything kid oriented, will be worse, but weekends will be better"?
