I'm gonna be honest, I like Mark Strong but the idea of him playing another menacing stoic villain sounds boring, especially in a superhero movie when the villain character's only apparent quality already is stoic and menacing.

Doctor Sivana is not a menacing stoic villain. Stoic is literally the opposite of Sivana. He is every mad scientist archetype rolled up into one. Will be fun seeing him chew the scenery in this role.
