What will be the next non sequel to be number one? Ad Astra? Something in late August? When I just saw The Lion King every trailer was a sequel while nearly every poster was a remake or a sequel

I think your question has been answered by Mahnamahna's projection. With TLK and H&S underperforming, American audience are ready for something fresh before It2. Dora should have less problem winning this wknd. If Dora is considered not original, Good Boys could be it.

Well seen nothing for good boys (heard it looks bad though) actually the only film in August not out yet I have seen anything for is Blinded by Light and Angry Birds 2.

I am kind of afraid to see how bad Labor Day weekend will be. You know until recently the week after Labor Day was the worse of the year.

I think I  just tired of Halloween STILL being the biggest Labor Day opener (as well as Saw 3 being Halloween’s record and I think Hannah Montana still has the Super Bowl record)

I like this time of year, yeah I know Warner's is locked and loaded with a blockbuster in "It 2", but for the most part, the next couple months are about tallying up the summer, seeing if movies released a month or two or three ago can hit DOM or WW milestones, and then gearing up for the Christmas movie season.
