CJohn Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Bombed over here today. I feel they could have delayed this one or two weeks after the American release to create more hype and talking between people here, since the book is basically unknown. 1 Quote
PanaMovie Posted October 3, 2014 Author Posted October 3, 2014 Bombed over here today. I feel they could have delayed this one or two weeks after the American release to create more hype and talking between people here, since the book is basically unknown. It's a shame With so good reviews they should have waited to november in many countries Quote
PanaMovie Posted October 3, 2014 Author Posted October 3, 2014 According to IMDB it is opening in more than 40 countries this weekend Brazil, Germany, UK, Hong Kong, Russia being the biggest countries 2 Quote
Hernan Gonzalez Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 It's opening in fourth in Argentina. I don't think it will do more than $0.3m OW in that market. Pretty bad. It's a pity because the trailer seems interesting Quote
Poseidon Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 It's doing pretty well in Germany over the holiday weekend. I expect it in the $2,5-3m range. Quote
PanaMovie Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 So it is flopping in parts of Europe and is unlikely to atteact general audience in Latin America 25M+ this weekend I think with 39 markets Quote
zackzack Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Very dark movie about failed marriage. Tough subject to sell Quote
PanaMovie Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) The adult thriller also impressed overseas, where it debuted to $24.6 million from its first 39 markets, many of them smaller, for a world total of $62.6 million. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-david-finchers-gone-738181 The Hollywood Reporter Exhibitor Relations @ERCboxoffice · 4m 4 minutes ago GONE GIRL delivered $24.6M from 39 markets overseas. Natsu Lian Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I have to say, Gone Girl is an exceptional film. However, such is the case with other great films tackling turbulent subject matters, (Particularly this film with such lugubrious themes), it might not do as well considering it's projected audience. A WW gross of around $150 - 200 million would make me more than happy! Quote
CJohn Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Solid start but nothing exceptional really, considering it opened almost everywhere. 1 Quote
PanaMovie Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 It has 15 new markets next weekend (France and Spain) Quote
DAJK Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I can see about 130DOM now, and this could very well pick up OS, and gross around 110M... So a 240WW gross... Quote
