I love reading it. Maybe I was wrong about Gunn directing Superman. I was worried he'd use a similar tone to the Marvel movies. I like that he is making Superman a universal savior that optimistically believes in the future of humanity.

That is not what I am getting. if he goes with the version of Supes I think he is headed for,it's the Supes is basically CLark Kent, a nice kid from Kansas who wants to use his powers to help people, and is very uncomfortable being regarded as a god and the distance it puts between him and other humans.

I don't know why people were expecting it to be a comedy anyway. Like directors can't handle more than one tone?

That's the narrative Snyderverse peeps propagate. That Gunn would turn this into something like GOTG. 🙄

If done right it can be to Gunn what Spider-Man was for Raimi. I.E. that still was clearly a work of Raimi but was different tonally and content-wise than his work on Evil Dead, Darkman, Quick and The Dead, etc. So this can take a similar route where it's different from stuff like Guardians and Slither, but still clearly a film from Gunn

Reveal of the cast will definitely be at Comiccon. I have no insider insight this year but it's just logical tbh.

This is honestly what I expected tbh, that and maybe some more casts for other movies. Not sure how many more project announcements we get but maybe some directors and cast?

Someone force James Gunn to watch the entire Superman the animated series from the 90s. It's the perfect deplication of modern day Superman, and this new movie needs to be as much like that show as much as possible in terms of character and action!
