World's tallest IMAX screen -- measuring more than 75 feet -- coming to Pooler's Royal Cinemas

Sorry.

this is about 20 minutes by car from Downtown Savannah.

Or 3 and a half hours from downtown Atlanta.

Holy shit, something cool I can actually go to. 100% seeing Oppenheimer here

IMAX Sydney update.

The previous builder went into administration and now the new builder, Probuild, has gone into administration (similar to chapter 11 in the US). All workers have left the site.

From, "This should be ready by the end of 2018" to "this damn thing will never be finished."

Shame.

Just looked at Pooler, GA's World's Tallest IMAX, at Royal Cinemas & IMAX.

It's $25 to get a matinee at the world's tallest, and $27 in the evening. But it's popular.

This is a suburb of Savannah, GA by the way. Not anywhere close to Atlanta.

World's Tallest IMAX screen is 101 feet wide and 76 feet and 2 inches tall.

I'm going to have my first LieMAX experience on Sunday!

it was OK, but they forgot to turn off the lights in the theater for 5 minutes into the movie starting. That sucks. I should have gone to the lobby when the lights weren't out for the trailers.

just found out there's a distinction between double laser and single laser.

Mall of Georgia IMAX, being single laser, can only do 1.9:1 ratio. Not 1.43:1.

even though the screen is huge, and it was built in 1999, and used IMAX film at the time.

Jesus christ, there's an IMAX in some no-name place in Germany that is 38 m (125 feet) wide.

Well maybe not no-name but it's 30 minutes outside Central Stuttgart by car/transit

Still not the tallest though.

That would still be in Pooler Georgia.

I just asked somewhere what the limit on IMAX screen size was
There's Traumpalast in Germany which is 38 meters wide
and there are IMAXes that are over 23 meters tall
Traumpalast IMAX is 800 square meters big, or so.

I asked if there could be a 1,000 square meter IMAX screen
I mean this would only happen if I was a billionaire/millionaire and REALLY wanted it lol

EDIT:

Completely forgot that the IMAX in Darling Harbor was 29.5 meters tall.
