a2k
How Pixar's 2 movies behaved in the same year...TGD ww will be close to IO dom!
KP1025
Apparently, this is not getting a China release because Zootopia is taking up the slot. It seems there is a real chance of this finishing under A Bug's Life unadjusted WW gross.
Purple Minion
So it reached $300M worldwide, but there's no much traction left besides Japan. Biggest OS markets: UK ($20.5M), France ($18.0M), Mexico ($13.2M), Brazil ($11.1M). Total Lifetime Grosses Domestic: $120,669,653 39.6% + Foreign: $184,300,000 60.4% = Worldwide: $304,969,
edroger3
For a company like Disney, which operates in almost all sectors of the entertainment industry, the most important thing is to create a brand that can be maximized, regardless of success in theaters. It is clearly not the case of TGD. Obviously you can't create a winning brand for each film that is produced, partly because the market would not allow it. For example, Inside Out has had tremendous success during its release in theaters, but not being repeated in home video and merchandising, while Frozen is the perfect storm: winner at the boxoffice and record-breaker out of the cinemas. So if the company does not see in a movie a potential for the born of a new successiful brand, it is much less interested in its promotion.

Quigley
Less than $10M left to earn from existing countries. $315M total. Japan needs to make at least $70M to match the analyst's prediction from ealy December. Very unlikely. I doubt it can even reach $350M actually. ttr
According to BOM The Good Dinosaur has made 321 M WW. I noticed from other topics, that Disney decided to give Zootopia the China release date instead of TGD. Can anyone make a sophisticed guess that how much TGD could have made in China? I have read that Pixar has fairly bad track reconrd in China, and TGD's RT are not very good (animationwise), so maybe 50 million USD? Quigley
$198.3Μ overseas (as of March 20) and has enough steam left in Japan to cross $200M. Not really a number to celebrate but oh well... Edited March 29, 2016 by Quigley

a2k
This are mind-boggling numbers, and not in a good way. As a BO surprise it's an anti-SW7. Would never have banked a Pixar movie (and I didn't think it was really bad. 2nd grade Pixar but still B- imo) would struggle to reach 350m WW irrespective of WOM. Something went very wrong in the marketing. Edited March 30, 2016 by a2knet
MinaTakla
Yea this, to me, is the shock of 2015. Extremely disappointing numbers.
phaeton77
LOL, wait for "Cars 3" numbers, they will be — the real disappointment. PIXAR, with all these unnecessary sequels, finally destroys his brand name, created over decades.

Mojoguy
To be fair, Disney gave TGD every chance to succeed. It had the Thanksgiving week release slot. Curiously, 4 of the last 5 animated movies released on Thanksgiving week in recent years have been failures. Good Dinosaur, Rise of the Guardians, Penguins of Madagascar, and Arthur Christmas all failed. Their openings were way too low to take advantage of the holiday legs. Hopefully, Moana this year does better than those movies... Edited March 31, 2016 by Mojoguy
Omni
The Good Dinosaur is bland, unfunny and clumsy. And above all, it has got the most uninteresting characters Pixar has ever created. Its place at the box office, between recent second-tier animated films Cloudy and Hotel Transylvania, is just perfect.
