Jay Beezy
I've liked most of the movies I've seen last year.Out of the ones I saw in theaters, I disliked Pirates of the Caribbean. Truly lacking in the epic scale that existed in its predecessors.I caught The Dilemma on TV, though, and thought it was an insufferable bore.As a Sandler fan, I avoided Jack and Jill and am likely to skip over it when it comes on TV. baumer
I'm kind of surprised that so many people seemed to dislike Just Go With It. That was a genuinely funny movie.

rockNrollaDIM
I only really hated a few, so the bottom 10 of my rankings (so far), can't even all be included on a "worst of" list. From what I've seen, and keep in mind I typically don't see movies I'm not expecting to enjoy and/or respect, these are the ones that are the worst: 7. Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 1 (5.5)- While I did find it entertaining and not necessarily awful, these movies are just so fucking retardedly stupid. At one point the wolves were speaking to each other in some kind of mind bark language and I'm like WTF? 6. I Am Number 4 (5.5)- Basically the same as Breaking Dawn. Generally likable, enjoyed it and I do leave it on when I catch it on HBO, but it was so incredibly dumb that I can't justifiably not include it here. It really went off the deep end with laughable alien bad guys. However the action was cool and the actors were actually half decent. 5. Scream 4 (5.0)- I respected this movie, and I do enjoy the franchise, but it felt really juvenile IMO. They tried too much to make it a parody and focus on the comedy whereas I and I believe many others were anticipating the slasher aspect. The killer reveal was not all that great and the conclusion was like a shitty Lifetime movie. Scream is about melodrama of course but it's supposed to be intentional- the film makers here clearly thought this was a "smart" twist. 4. Bad Teacher (5.0)- This was a let down. All the best (only) jokes were in the trailers, so by the time I saw the movie even those weren't funny anymore. The relationship was forced, cast gave their best effort but overall it was not funny. 3. The Hangover II (5.0)- Had some bright moments, specifically Ken Jeong's performance, but this was for the most part a straight up rehash of the first film and IMO an insult to the audience. They didn't even try to make it original in any way, shape or form. It would be one thing if the situation was the only similarity, but they ripped off several jokes word for word, gag for gag. Come on! 2. The Roommate (3.5)- This was entertaining but for all the wrong reasons. While technically it may have been more of a "fun" movie than some of the ones mentioned above, it is laughably bad. I can't tell if they were actually trying to make a thriller or if they wanted to make fun of thrillers. Sadly I think they took it seriously. 1. Battle: Los Angeles (1.0)- This takes the cake as the worst movie I've seen this year. It is utter trash. I give Sony credit for great marketing that made this look like a big time sci-fi epic and instead it turned out to be a boring propaganda piece for the USMC, with little action or SFX, some awful, unsympathetic, brain dead characters and cliche situations. There was nothing to like about this movie. F. I never give F's but this is a big piece of shit F. mdot1982
Are you joking? Aside from Thor and Hangover 2 (still liked them) the rest are some of the best films of the year.Lol, of course I'm joking !!! 50/50, Moneyball, Drive were great movies. Thor was not my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal. The others as well are all fine. I didn't like Contagion though. Never saw PA:3.I'll do my real one ...1. Buck Larson : Born to be a Star (I had high hopes for this movie since I thought it would be along the lines of a Grandma's Boy and Strange Wilderness where I laughed out loud ... but this movie was absolutely horrendous ... nothing redeeming about it. The Seth Rogan porn one is a way better watch)2. 30 Minutes or Less ( Again, I like all the actors / comedians individually, but this was a straight to DVD type movie. Overall a bad script / premise / movie) I would just watch 'Eastbound and Down' instead! Aziz Stand up! Swardson in Blades of Glory + Stand Up + Reno and also Jesse in adventurland and Zombieland!3. Zookeeper ( This is probably my fault, I figured it would be slightly amusing due to being a Night at the Museum knock off, but it was horrific .... which brings me to my next one ... )4. The Dilemma - Holy Hell, Hollywood needs a talent scout. These 2 guys are over the hill for their respective parts, Vince Vaughn is haggered and Kevin James was meant for King of Queens. This movie was not good IMO.5. Paul - Again, after seeing Hott Fuzz, I expected hilarity, but I was met with a poorly executed movie. I signed off half way through.6. Priest - Legions , same shit same pile.7.Killer Elite - While I enjoyed bits and pieces, they were few and far between. The Clive vs Jason part was excellent, the rest seemed like filler or just poorly edited. Better parts are probably on the cutting room floor. DeNiro, you can turn down a role!8. Your Highness - No jokes hit for me. I believe that Danny Mcbride mentioned he wanted to make one of those movies that young teens would like , but at $50 million and rated R ... bad idea !9. Apollo 18 - See Moon instead !10. Take me home tonight - Straight to DVD. John Hughes wannabe, but it missed by infinity.- Cowboys and Aliens fits in there somewhere, but not sure where. The start was great, then it went into campy.Best Comedy of the Year : The Change-UpBest Thrill ride : Source CodeBest Super Hero : I am number FourBest Sci-Fi : In Time (Total Suprise)Best Arthouse/Mainstream mix : DriveBest Documentary : SennaBest Comedy/Horror : Fright NightBest Animated : Rio or RangoBest Sports : MoneyballBest Horror : Final D5Best Drama : Lincoln LawyerBest Action : MI:4Best Adventure : SherlockMost Creative ways to die : Drive, Columbiana, Final Destination 5 !!! Kevin Bacon
I do a pretty great job of avoiding bad movies, but...Battle: Los AngelesThat's honestly the only genuinely crap movie I recall seeing this year, at all. And I was really looking forward to it, but aDIm nailed it on the head. I also thought Hangover 2 and Green Lantern and probably a few others were mediocre, but not worthy of a worst of the year list. Also, I'm disappointed by the prevalence of Limitless here. I really liked that movie.
mdot1982
Also, I'm disappointed by the prevalence of Limitless here. I really liked that movie.Limitless was excellent. Cinematography was second to none. Action was nail biting. But, can't change other people's opinions and tastes!!! They are what they are. I'd put that right beside source code as another movie that you have to hold your pee!!!

JamesFord92
Haven't seen that many movies that I didn't like so far, so I'll stick to 5.5) Cowboys & Aliens - Somehow the title ended up being the only part of the movie with a sense of fun.4) The Hangover 2 - I wouldn't have minded that it's a carbon copy of the first movie if it at least been funny.3) The Smurfs - Exactly what I expected it to be, so at least it met expectations.2) Sucker Punch - I didn't know it was possible to make hot chicks kicking ass this boring.1) Transformers: Dark of the Moon - I didn't know it was possible to make giant robots fighting this boring.
