RichWS
I agree with your views on the film and books, but I think that's the exact reason why the film and Fincher himself have no shot. I don't see this as Scorsese/Departed Part 2. Like you said, it's well-made pulp trash. I will say it would be interested to see a Best Picture winner that features Stellan Skarsgard as a monologue-sprouting Bond villain. CoolioD1
Who's ready for a shock? Michel Hazanavicius won it.
acsc1312
No, but really, I'm happy for him. He/Scorcese/Allen deserved it
fishstick
Who's ready for a shock? Michel Hazanavicius won it.No way! What a twist! I`ve never in a million years seen that coming. Absolutely no Oscar site predicted this.

CloneWars
This pretty much cements The Artist as winner for the Oscar this year both BP and BD. I thought a BD/BP split might happen, but not even that will happen this year.
RichWS
Not much to add. This seals the deal.
rockNrollaDIM
Worst Oscar race ever. I can't even complain about The Artist sweeping because there's no other movie even in the Best Picture/Best Director race that I remotely give two shits about.
