"2014 doesn't exist."

Yes, and right after that I made a post about 2014

Also, I said that because I absolutely hate 2014's Summer box office

I clicked reply before your 2014 post.

And you're still willfully ignoring 2014 comparibles.

Universal: Wahahaha! OW record, broken!

Disney: Wahahaha! Second weekend record intact!

Fox, Paramount, Sony, Warner Brothers: (Crickets chirping)

lol, this year is a slug fest between giants. All the other studios can do is sit and watch.

AOU vs F7

IO vs Minions

SW7 vs JW

29 million Friday

37 million Saturday

38 million Sunday (I think it's going to increase)

$104 million 2nd weekend... just barely breaks the record

If that happens I will forever trust your box office predictions

You're a little late to the party. I already explained that was a typo...and yes i hate Pixar

I know, I know. I only replied since I was looking at the previous posts, since I just got up.

Also you hate Pixar, and that's okay with me.   :)

He said 35%. On the same weekend last year only movies at the bottom of the top 10 increased more than that.

I'm gonna go on a hunch here, but I think he was joking

Of course I was. I said that because Summer 2014 was a mighty pile of dump when it comes to exciting box office.

Okay, if we're ignoring 2014…then what about 2012? There were six movies that jumped over 35% going on Saturday and two that jumped over 30% on Father's Day weekend.

JW faced a monster juggernaut in IO which had bigger and broader and appeal than expected. Its $29M Friday is still amazing and not disappointing in any way shape or form.

And could mean a bigger Saturday jump than some are expecting. This seems like the ultimate guy movie for Dad and the kids to see on Father's Day, so I would not be surprised by an epic Sunday hold (something like 2-3%).

Right. Saying JW can't break the record is premature.
