Weekend Estimates: JW: 102 IO 91...RTH: Sun JW 38.3 | IO 25.3 with possible upsides PG 287, possible 107M for JW weekend

That JW shot is going to be iconic. The I-Rex running away from an explosion like an 80s/90s action hero is just too much awesomeness.

That and this:

Plus the whole

4-way battle

at the end.

Gitesh is usually bad at projecting but I'll give him credit here. These are some good Tweets. I think the weekend record is going down but I would also love 103.8 so we can see it reach 400 in 10 days.

I think Gitesh knows universal is low balling and the record is going down, hence the tweet about FD drops compared to JW.

Agree. Even Deadline says some people that are reporting to them expect it to reach 103 at least. We are firmly in fudge territory here for both the record and 400 in 10 days. I'd love to see it blow past both of them with no fudge. But if it's necessary, Universal should take the leap. If Paramount can fudge $3m for TF4 to reach $100m opening, then it's all fair game.

Families showed up in herds, making up 71% of the audience. Kids 12 and under made up more than a third of the crowd at 38%. About 3,100 engagements for IO were 3D. Per inside reports, IO drew mostly females at 63% with 64% of the crowd buying a ticket to the movie because of the type of film it was, meaning it’s animated Pixar film. Overall CinemaScore was an A for IO, Pixar’s ninth A out of 15 releases (they’ve never gotten anything lower than an A-). 59% of the crowd was under 25 while 46% were under 18. http://deadline.com/2015/06/jurassic-world-inside-out-weekend-box-office-dope-1201448898/

Dayum, the Saturday is 39.7...so RTH's 40 on the low end was very close to accurate. Much closer than Deadline's 39.8 last night. And that means the record is even more within reach than I thought. Nice.

Huh? Rth's 40 is closer to 39.7 than Deadline's 39.8?
