Is he? Guardians was an original film released in the heart of summer and had a 8.4 multiplier from Thursday preview to weekend total. It is not unreasonable to expect similar performance from Ant-Man. Marvel has built a lot more of a preview audience than they had a few years ago.

No new movies opened that Wednesday or had previews that Thursday night, 15 out of the top 20 movies on that day increased.  Partially explained that Marvel's The Avengers had the smallest increase on Tuesday for holdovers that week.

For as slow as it's taking JW to hit 600M, I'm still maintaining it doesn't make another 24M to beat TA.. It's slowed down ALOT and if I'm wrong, so be it, but I'm still not seeing it happening for what was such a sure fire thing..
