Cruddy Weekend Estimates: A-M 24.77m, Pix 24m, Minions 22m, Trainwreck 17.2m, Southpaw 16.5m, PT 12.5m,

Recommended Posts

I've seen all the summer movies last year and this year so far, and the ones I liked:

2015

Mad Max Fury Road

Terminator Genisys

Jurassic World

Minions

Inside Out

Spy

Avengers

2014

Guardians of the Galaxy

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

How to Train Your Dragon 2

Edge of Tomorrow

that's 4 vs. 7+ (still several to go and I will probably like Mission Impossible, hopefully like Paper Towns & FF). I'm not sure what all this fuss is about in regard to having a bad quality summer blockbuster season.

MiniTakla. IO will definitely cross 350. It's tracking well ahead of DM2 and DM2 made another 32 million after this weekend. Continued tracking at that pace would get it close or at 360.

It's tracking a bit below TS3 at the same point during its run, TS3 made 9 million in its 6th weekend, IO will do around 7.7 or 7.6

TS3 made 35 million after its 6th weekend. (so IO is around 15% behind it at the same point).

IO: 313 + (85% x 35) = 29.75 = 343 million,

I would say between 345 and 348 million DOM

Just looked at DM2's run.

Minions made around -12% less than DM's 3rd weekend, and by day 17 (Sunday), would be above DM2 by 4 million (on day 17). (262 vs 258)

Assuming Minions falls more than DM2's falls on its 4th, 5th and 6th weekends, it would end up being around -15% less than DM2's 3rd weekend-to-final DOM ie. 76 million more. (out of the 93 million DM2 did from that point onwards)

262 + 76 million = 338 million

Yeah but its not.a.good sign for the future of John Green adaptations

If they're cheap to make then I'm sure they'll adapt another one of his books like Looking for Alaska. Nicholas Sparks movies have mixed box office success but they're still churning them out because they're inexpensive to make and what they don't do in the box office, they make up with TV, streaming and home entertainment
