Thursday #s: MI5 2.6, F4 1.4

Recommended Posts

I could go into a long post about the complexities of how poverty and incarceration translates into violence and broken windows, but honestly, it's not even worth it. But why is the movie stupid? What about an NWA biopic is "stupid?"

Yes, it's getting an extremely limited re-release following its restoration.

Wow, only 12 locations, that's extremely limited indeed

My husband saw it in the '60 during a school 'extra'/special screening (probably as 16mm film), me only via TV/DVD.

Another Blu-Ray I seem to have to have to buy in the future....

Oh FF... this is crazy how quick its dropping. To think it closed out its first week still well below what most thought it would do in its first three days. Easily one of the most interesting runs so far this summer, despite its awful performance. lol

Ant-man continues to gain on CA1. After this weekend deficit will be around 6.5-7M. It's going to be interesting to see if Ant-man can beat it out right.

Ant-Man beats (very) occasionly late in release-day comparisons CA 2 and/or Thor 2

Ignoring the different release months... I'd say that it has really nice late legs for a non-IM / Avengers MCU movie)

CA1 made during it's 5th weekend $4,115,529, Ant-Man's I've read about an estimated $5m, it's possible, but IMHO way too early, Don't forget: it looses again locations

This could be a rather large theater drop for Ant-Man, I don't see where BOM has updated their 'Theater Counts' page.

Last week A-M lost 412 theaters, a 12% loss.

I'd like to hope that at worst, it doubles that and the loss is only 25% or 825 theaters. Meaning it'd still be above 2K theaters though.

It looses -604 locations = -20.8%

TalismanRing posted the complete changing... chart in the weekend thread:

F4 got a very little expansion (+9 locations), that is, what I really do not understand
