O/U 1,700 theater drop for FANT4STIC? I'm going with over.

From all wide releases it is only 1 out of 2 that didn't manage to make at least an average of $100 yesterday (Shaun the Sheep being the other one), so I would kick it out as much as possible/sensible as a cinema owner

I guess latest after Labor Day it will not have a lot of locations left...

It'll still be playing on one screen here, Shaun the Sheep is making room for WAYF. Minions and Pixels are leaving at another theater for War Room.

Curiuos to see the weekend changes also bcs for the moment are quite a few titles in the 'wide release' category (as BO.com defines 'wide')..

For some reasons I'd love to know the year to date numbers till the end of September...

I'm still pretty bad at tracking a weekend based off of Wednesday numbers. For No Escape could we be lookin at something like this?

1.18

0.85

1.65

1.9

1.1

That would be only 6.58 for the 5 day, am I missing something?

Closest comparison is "The November Man" from last year same day release: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=daily&id=novemberman.htm

Its dailies are actually on par with Teenage Mutants Ninja Turtles' numbers for its second week. The percentage drops are also smaller as well. How is it crumbling?

Baumer makes a joke when he writes 'crumbling' It's based on the irony... as someone then meant Jurrasic World is crumbling at a time it definitivly did not.

EWs weekend prediction

.....

1. Straight Outta Compton — $15 million

.....

2. We Are Your Friends — $9 million

.... which was acquired by Warner Bros. for only $2 million.....

3. No Escape — $8.5 million

.....For the five-day period... around $11 or $12 million, with a three-day debut ....

4. Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation — $7.4 million

.....

5. War Room — $5 million

This weekend’s wildcard is a faith-based family drama...... to strong advance ticket sales, War Room is eyeing a debut around $5 million, but if it underperforms, the fifth place spot could instead go to The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

$9 million for WAYF seems a bit high. War Room could've broken out if its theater count was bigger but $5-6 million seems like where it will end up.

Ridiculous weekend for openers and the next two weeks don't look much better. At least The Visit seems like something that will do 10M OW and Perfect Guy should do around 15M
