Jake Gittes
Edward Lachmann - Carol John Seale - Mad Max: Fury Road Emmanuel Lubezki - The Revenant Robert Richardson - The Hateful Eight Roger Deakins - Sicario / Hoyte van Hoytema - Spectre
Jake Gittes
I'd predict Lubezki for the win, but I do think having just won twice in two years will keep him from being a sure thing. Wouldn't be shocked to see Richardson take home another one, or even Seale - I think people are underestimating Fury Road's chances across the board, and this wouldn't be a hard Oscar to give it considering it's such a showy, self-evidently great piece of work, and Seale is a respected veteran. DAJK
So far from movies I have seen this year, Fury Road is probably the best, but Cinderella was also quite good, and while it was inconsistent, Scorch Trials actually had a few beautiful shots. Impact
I could see Everest being nominated here.
Impact
Actually thought I did start a thread for this! Anyway predicts: Bridge of Spies Everest Hateful Eight The Martian The Revenant
Impact
Based off of what I've seen so far-The Martian should win.

DAJK
Out of the movies I've seen so far I could imagine Fury Road, The Martian being nominated. Everest could as well but it would be a long shot.

Jake Gittes
Err, why is everyone predicting The Martian all of a sudden? What's so great about its cinematography? Interstellar looked much more striking and got snubbed, I don't see any way TM gets in.
Jake Gittes
Carol The Hateful Eight Mad Max: Fury Road The Revenant Sicario On the outside looking in: Son of Saul, Spectre. Edited October 7, 2015 by Jake Gittes
TStechnij
This seems to be out floppiest predictions so far. The Revenant is locked. The Hateful Eight should be in. Son of Saul has a great chance here. Joy is a possible spoiler as I'm sure DOR has been close before and Joy looks more engaging. This is my ballsy guess. Carol, Mad Max, Sicario, Beasts of No Nations, maybe Bridge of Spies and MAYBE The Martian are fighting for fifth imo. WrathOfHan
Totally forgot about Hateful Eight. I'd replace Spectre with that.

Kalo
I don't remember anything remarkable about Everest's cinematography, that whole movie was quite a letdown if you asked me. I'd say the Revenant is nearly assured to win just from the trailers alone, I did think The martin had great cinematography though.
