Transformers franchise completely collapsed without Bay. Overseas numbers aren't even a third of AoE or DotM, and only half of TLK. Domestic isn't even a third of of what it used to be. The sooner they can get Bay and the OG cast back on board, the sooner they can salvage this franchise.

This Youtube Video draws a descriptive contrast to how the boring and outrageously dull this new Transformers movie was. Michael Bay could use that dumb script and make this new Transformers 10x better than it actually is.

ROTB is dull as shit but no we don't need bay to come back to these movies. I say that as a Michael Bay fan who by the time we got to The Last Knight was just done with these movies.

I think the Transformers concept just doesn’t justify that many movies. I don’t think Michael Bay is responsible for the decline of the franchise, but I also don’t think it would be in better shape had he continued directing these movies. Unless they come up with a creative way to use this brand and characters, there’s no director who can make audiences excited for Transformers again, because these movies all seem like kinda the same thing over and over.

definition of a movie made by AI

no understanding of tone, pacing, or human emotion

shocking how much uglier and smaller-looking 2023 Transformers are; it is a toy commercial, but that doesn't mean the characters need to look like toys

everything it does feels unearned, and all of its decisions are either baffling or the most generic thing possible

Has none of the magic of the first 3 Bay movies, but its still a stupid big robot action movie, so I was never really bored

no, i think i prefer my transformers movies without wildly racist stereotypes and scenes dedicated to justifying pedophilia

a few awkward scenes and jokes have never ruined a movie

The technical ability in display is a tenth of what Bay usually showed, that's what really matters

I can certainly agree that the Michael Bay films have more personality to them than the newer ones, but they’re still pretty repetitive and a lot of it comes across like Bay didn’t give a shit, mostly the second one and the ones with Mark Wahlberg. I guess RotF at least has the excuse of the Writer’s Strike.

ignoring the personal issues with Shia there's no way they'd ever get him back anyways with how much he's spoken against his time on those movies/his 00s blockbuster run in general

that just leaves Fox i guess and idk if she'd really move the needle that much, Duhamel and Tyrese definitely sure as hell aren't (they brought back the former in TLK and no one really cared)

Also saw 2

the imax scenes were great

a worse movie, very contrived and weirdly edited at times, but its more fun so I like it more

laughed at the scene where Megan Fox said only she could ever been Sam's girlfriend

saw 3 as well

sad about the lack of imax scenes

a bit slow at first, but what do you know, still fun

set pieces are pretty nice and the post-credit scene is a pretty awesome way to end the trilogy (neurotic jewish FBI agent kissing Frances and cracking some pretty sweet jokes)

2>3=1

my ranking of the trilogy

all perfectly adequate movies; only 2 is fundamentally broken but it makes up for it by being bonkers (and those imax scenes)

glad to see that adult me still got some good fun out of this trilogy

saw the first in theaters, 16 years ago, probably one of the first movies I remember seeing in theaters (bumblebee peeing on the funny neurotic jewish guy still lives rent-free in my head)

Considering that some people consider these movies absolute trash, I have no choice but to become defender of them; I feel like anyone who comes in with an open mind should be able to have a good time with the trilogy

I remember thinking 4 was a bit meh and have never seen 5, will do research on them before deciding if I'm to watch them or not

the mid-credit scene is seriously awesome, without thinking too much about it, probably the best I've seen and adds a whole extra point to my rating

so nice to see a mid-credit scene that cares about nothing else than making you smile, not just a throwaway joke, but a sweet and joyous epilogue to send you home

think I might prefer 3 to 1 after all, even if Fox is sorely missed (mostly by virtue of actually being an actress)

whole first min of that video

I'm sure I'll end up regretting, but since I had a blast rewatching the trilogy, I'll rewatch 4 and watch 5 for the first time

You can say that about a lot of Franchises today...and I am looking right at the F and F franchise.

But it does not matter what you think or I think ; what matters is how much money these films make. No matter how tired, no matter how cliched, no matter how unoriginal; if a franchise makes money, the franchise  will continue.

Bay blows things up real good, but other then that I have never considered him a good filmmaker.
