To be honest I didn't even think this was doing Thursday shows. Still, I think this can hold better than CP (no del toro fan base + Christmas) so if Friday's numbers don't collapse, I think 13-15M could happen.

I mean HT2 didn't, but maybe because that's a kid movie. I guess I just assumed because I was looking at a lot of theatres throughout British Colombia (where I live) and I didn't find any that were actually doing Thursday shows.

I think everyone questions their predictions based on buzz every now and then.

 

 Someone who didn't would be terrible at predicting box office.

With a 43% drop too!

 

It's not Christmas themed, so a sub-50% drop over the post-Thanksgiving frame would be phenomenal. 

 

Not to mention it should hold well next weekend before Star Wars takes most screens from everything, even Heart of the Sea (which normally would keep its screens in the 2nd weekend) 

 

Could it still leg its way past $200 million?

Not sure about that @mahnamahna, 160 M is a good target. I really enjoyed TGD, I wish it was doing better.

TGD won't do 20M. That would require a massive jump. It can win next weekend with a sub 30% drop if ItHotS flops.

I don't learn either. But in my case it was me predicting a mini breakout with close to 20M despite ppl predicting a flop.
