Not for an international release. This thing makes only profit from here on out to the end of time.

And it will have a long run.

Sorry, but it's not there yet.

But we are not talking just domestic anymore. It's a global economy.

The breakeven point for this movie is somewhere in the $900 million range. (Perhaps as low as $800M, perhaps as high as $1B.)

It is not there yet, but it should get there fairly easily. But of course the goal with this gigantic movie is not just to break even, or make a small profit. It was supposed to be a ginormous uber-blockbuster (making way, way over $1B), and be well-received enough to launch dozens of future films off it's back, and that is clearly not the case on either count.

Rest easy knowing that the film will not lose money in the end, but rest a little uneasily knowing that it failed in it's two main goals.

RIP DCEU

I'd say I'm a little surprised that we haven't heard anything about JL changes yet, but WB obviously doesn't want to add to the negative publicity and damage BvS's box office numbers any further.

I'd say I'm a little surprised that we haven't heard anything about JL changes yet, but WB obviously doesn't want to add to the negative publicity and damage BvS's box office numbers any further.

Whatever happens in the near future will happen quietly. Same thing with Divergent (they'll wait until the third is out of theaters and then remove it from the schedule).

I would love for it to beat Frozen's sales by 1M+ units.

No. The Home Video market is dead now. Also TFA bluray quality leaked online two weeks ago.

FROZEN forever!

I don't think we're going to hear anything for a while. JL is likely going ahead as planned (albeit with WB having a tight leash on Snyder where there probably wasn't before) and the future slate is quietly pushed back in favor of a solo Batman film.

So... F7 made more $101,490,620 after its second Sunday. I still maintain that F7 is the best mirror for BvS, but with that said, BvS had a $166,077,347  opening weekend, while F7 had a $147,187,040 opening weekend. At the first weekend they were $18.890.307 apart, but after its second weekend numbers, F7 had $251,516,400, while BvS is now with $260,408,047, which means they are now only $8.891.647 apart.

Like I was predicting last week, BvS isn't really following either IM3 OR F7's pattern. At this pace I predict that it'll keep going under F7 weekdays and since it'll probably be under F7's numbers by the end of the third weekend, it has no shot at $350m, let alone F7's $354m total.

A 2.1 multiplier for BvS doesn't seem feasible at all with these drops in the moment. 2.05 is way too generous too. A 2.01 multiplier seems like a best case scenario, which it would bring the film to a $333.8m final total. I wouldn't discard something like as drastic as an 1.85 multiplier either, if drops keep going this steady, which would make the film barely cross $300m and under $10m more than MoS domestically, ending its run at $307.2m

It's already at $260M. There's no way it's only earning another $47M. I understand that it's drop was huge but let's not be ridiculous. I think $334M is reasonable maybe under.

If the drops keep going at the same rate, that's where my projection headed, if you take in consideration Jungle Book, Huntsman and Captain America: Civil War, it could get as ugly as that. Unlikely, yes. Impossible? No.

It won't continue to see 65% drops until the theater drops become massive. Relax.

In your original post you stated it was great to see BvS get its production budget in its second weekend at the domestic box office. You never mentioned anything about a global box office.

Read that post again carefully.

The only fallout I see from all this is no more tentpoles will be released Easter weekend that are not G or PG. Write it down.

Also, Eisner is polishing his resume.
