Civil War not getting 400M DOM and 1.2 B WW would indeed be a disappointment ....

Wow, talk about setting a movie up for failure! A series that has done $176m DOM/$370m WW and $260m DOM/$714m WW will be a failure if its latest doesn't do $400m/$1.2B? And a character whose last appearance was in Ultron, itself a relative disappointment?

IMO, that's a herculean bar to cross.

I expect CW to do about $235m DOM/$700m WW, and if it does that it's a success.

I wonder what Jungle Book's legs will be.

I'm not feeling too confident about an "under 180 m DOM" bet I made in the casino.

The legs will be good. While not a masterpiece like the 1967 version, it is very good.

Iron Man v Captain America plus the addition of Spider Man, with this group for the first time ever???

Forum logic, remember.

I didn't say FAILURE - I hate it when people put words in my mouth -, I said disappointment. And I'll tell you exactly why it's a disappointment: because IRON MAN 3 made those numbers 3 years ago. Freaking divisive ass Iron Man 3. This movie has Winter Soldier's goodwill in it, it has Iron Man and SPIDER-MAN in it (as well as a few other anticipation worthy characters), and it's opening the Summer movie season. Plus, it's getting good reactions to boot. To me, that's the bar it has to beat at least.

Wow, I am now more worried than ever. I am a BIG Marvel fan, I see a LOT of movies (more than 100 in the theater last year), and yet until you posted this, i did NOT know that Spider-Man was appearing in Civil War! Disney is obviously not doing a good job marketing this, lol. Heck, I knew Wonder Woman was appearing in BvS months ago.

OK, with Spidey involved, it has to hit $300m DOM to not be a disappointment.

PS - did not intend to put words in your mouth. To me, "disappointment" and "failure" are pretty close conceptually. Sorry about that.

Civil War crossing $300 million will be a huge success. Another hit for Marvel.

I'm thinking IM3 numbers domestic and worldwide is the floor.

Maybe a smaller OW than IM3 but much better legs.

And around 200 m in China, then it will need only 600 m OS minus China. Definitely achievable for an unofficial Avengers movie with great reviews.
