Totally sold as a Cap vs Iron Man movie. This TV spots strategy wasn't used in the Avengers movies. No sir.

That is a 30 second ad in Portuguese.  It sets it up as Captain America and Iron Man.  Then it names Black Widow, Bucky Barnes, Falcon, Black Panther and Ant-Man and you think that translates to selling it as an AVENGERS movie?

Come on man.

CW's WW weekend should be around 650-700M. In a few hours, Disney will have THREE movies in the top 5 of the year so far, and all three of them are bound to be 300M+ DOM and at the very least 800M+ WW makers, w/Civil War being a lock for a billion, Jungle Book having potential to reach there and Zootopia being less than 50M to reach the mark.

And this is without even counting The Force Awakens' 2016 spillout. Unbelievable. One of the greatest yearly studio performances ever already, and we're just in May, for Christ's sake.

2x multi is going to depend on theater drops from now on methinks.

2x multi is dead. It needs another 5 million or so coming off a 1m weekend. 330 is really the best it could probably do, depending on the discount theater run

yeah a saw it and its ok nothing more and its not better than IM 1 and WS. And your argument is laughable when you add SPIDER-MAN to the movie. The most popular Marvel character there is. Wht would say BvS is iif you call Civil War a cap movie ?

Open up those eyes and ears of yours and listen for once.  I have said for the 5th time that this is sold as a Captain America vs. Iron Man movie, not simply a Captain America movie.

The argument that this was sold as an Avengers movie is as off base as saying that BvS was a Justice League movie because it had cameos in it.

This was a Captain America vs. Iron Man movie, not Avengers 3.  BvS was  a Batman vs. Superman movie, not Justice League.

Is 1b on for ZOOTP?

Possibly. It's doing pretty well in Japan so far, as it seems Civil War might be underperforming over there. And it's still got some tasty legs everywhere else on Earth. It'll be a reach, and hardly the 1st animated movie to die on the 900M+ beach (Despicable Me 2 being the most recent example), but it can do it.

If Zootopia, Jungle Book, Civil War, Dory and Rouge One all do $1b Disney will have majority stake in the billion-dollar club.
