I say again, Illumination doesn't need an adult audience for their movies to be massive. They have kids totally hooked on their brand of animation, and just like Minions Pets will be carried by that demo to 275+.

A movie doesn't get to $336M from just families going to see it.

It's pretty much Scream 4 on a much higher scale. The drop-off between the first and the second in admissions will be even more hideous than originally thought.

Yes it can. You're acting like this is 10+ years ago when 300m was still a mega blockbuster. That line is more like 450m today. Now I agree that level of hit can't happen with the family demo as the only big one, but 300 definitely can.

Alice Through the Looking Glass trumps them all. It's gonna go from $330M to less $80M.

I think Trek might open under 40M

woof that seems impossible to me.  I know this isn't as fresh as it was but it hasn't fallen THAT far from glory.  I also think it will be a small factor, but a factor albeit, that yelchin passed away.

Look at Deadpool if anyone doesn't believe me about 300m+ hits being possible without even close to 4 quads. That had neither the kid or old demo on its side. It was 90% teen to 40 year old fueled.

Newsflash: adults make up the majority of moviegoers.

That's strange. At my Deadpool showing over half the people there were graying. No kid demo though of course.

I'm by no means sold on that prediction. I'll Still say mid 40s for now but In could see it happening
