I'm not surprised that Independence Day is being projected under $20 million for Friday. My IMAX screening last night was only maybe one-third full, and the audience response was decidedly muted. As for me: I usually enjoy Roland Emmerich's work on a guilty pleasure level, but I thought this one was terrible.

We're seeing it tomorrow probably. My expectations are...low.

The Shallows has screwed my Casino big time. I expected a big breakout.

Isn't 15 mill a good breakout?

So were mine, so I'm sorry to say that low expectations may not help much. :P

I'm glad that Finding Dory is going to absolutely obliterate it. It doesn't scale the heights of its predecessor either, but at least it's still a highly entertaining, heartfelt film.

I made bets for over $25m. Pretty stupid in hindsight.

Yea....it's being played on one screen per theater. Pretty hard to do anything over $20M like that. However I'll admit I did have it at $20M but that's before I find out about how many screens it had lol

Legs for The Shallows should be fine, if unspectacular.

You haven't seen it. If you do you might change your tune.
