Tarzan will open around the levels of Pacific Rim instead of The Lone Ranger. That shocks me. The Purge 3, every Purge film opens better than expectations(at least to mine) which is really good. The BFG flopped.

I'm actually shocked. Only because in the last month, 3 have been released and those 3 haven't taken a hit box office wise because of competition from one another. I honestly thought one was going to give. Even with The Purge coming out, The Shallows had a good hold. Low budget horror has been making a killing. No pun intended.

Tarzan kind of reminds me of the Last Airbender- a poorly reviewed, poorly marketed brand  movie that everyone thought was going to be a mammoth flop but ended up doing pretty good over the Fourth of July weekend.

Interesting comparison. It had a Thursday opening and dropped 5.1% on Friday and 13.4% on Saturday; Tarzan's WOM isn't that bad but nobody is really praising it either.
