Here’s the plot for those who are interested:

Terrier Max (Patton Oswalt) is coping with some major life changes. His owner (Ellie Kemper) is now married and has a toddler, Liam. Max is so worried about protecting the boy that he develops a nervous tic. On a family trip to a farm, Max and mutt Duke (Eric Stonestreet) encounter canine-intolerant cows, hostile foxes and a terrifying turkey, all of which only elevates Max's anxiety. Luckily, Max gets some guidance from veteran farm dog Rooster (Harrison Ford, making his animated-film debut), who pushes Max to ditch his neuroses, find his inner alpha, and give Liam a little more freedom.

That sounds like the plot to a Direct-to-DVD sequel.

To the despair of Illumination 'haters': Pets 2 will make more than $ 1 billion worldwide! 🤑🤑

I can’t see that. Especially with TS4 2 weeks later. I don’t think either of the two will do $1B.

I am considering more than $ 100 million in China! (Original Pets made $ 58 million in that country 3 years ago). In relation to TS4, TS3 made $ 1 billion worldwide without China! Imagine how big TS4 will be in China!

Pixar doesn’t do well in China besides the ER has taken a term for the worse.

The biggest question in the series is how the owner is able to readily afford a rather nice one bedroom apartment, complete with two dogs, presumably right in Manhattan.

Especially with a son and presumably a spouse.

Also the summary implies that she was single during SLOP1. Either her family is rich, or she’s a developer of a leading software company, some other bougie progression, or she sells drugs.

Plot twist: She is a drug dealing supervillain the Minions used to right for. The Illumination Cinematic Universe continues.

Plot twist: the reason the animals can talk to each other is because of an experiment gone-wrong orchestrated by Gru and the Minions
