Disney loves the March release date for their live-action remakes, especially of the princess variety (Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan before COVID hit) and they currently have a movie set for March 22, 2024, which one has to assume is their planned date for this since they like to shoot their live-action movies well in advance. Disney never said they would replace the dwarfs. Their statement was they would take "different approaches" to those characters and consulted with people in the dwarfism community. They do this for almost all their movies that take place in non-American cultures. This basically meant the dwarfs would still be in the movie but more "modernized" and "not as stereotypical". I'm a bit skeptical that they save this for 2024 when August 2023 seems like a really good date or as mentioned above, this could takeover that Rogue Squadron date. D23 can't come soon enough!
