I obviously know a lot less things than you do but I am curious about one thing. MJ2 made 37m from this weekend on. This week, FB did 15,2m aprox while MJ2 did sth below 16m. That's a little less than 10% difference. Considering that MJ2 had a lot competition as well (possibly more with TFA) why do you see FB doing almost 30% less than MJ2?

I wouldn't compare it with MJ2 beginneng at the weekend with TFA's release, the age of SW skews too similar to FB, MJ2's age skewed younger

Hacksaw Ridge is a big comeback for Gibson, no way around it.

Arrival is the beast of the season, hopefully doesn't suffer when Rogue One drops.

Moonlight is DOA outside of arthouse circles.

Everything will suffer!

There are 8 movies going wide in the next two weeks compared to 7 last year. The only non-TFA movie that warranted multiple screens was Daddy's Home, and nobody expected it to be as big as it was. This year, Sing and Passengers are going to command multiple screens in addition to what Rogue One is. Additionally, four movies go wide on January 6 and five go wide on the 13th. Simply put, FB has a lot more competition to face.

Thanks for elaborating!I hope it somehow manages to get to 230m

If Europa Corp can barely market a movie in France what they were thinking to go all-in in NA. Good luck with Valerian next year which carries a 200m production cost

I really would love that film to be good and making money... and am afraid like hell they will butch the distribution (again)

In case I didn't do that already:

:welcome: to BOT
