The point would be that Cernovich is trying to claim the moral high ground, and it’s making him look like a self-righteous hypocrite, on top of being a shitty person who once pleaded guilty to rape.

 

This isn’t even the first time he’s tried ruining someone’s life with old tweets. He once twisted a Sam Seder tweet out of context to try and make it look like Seder was expressing support for Roman Polanski, even though the tweet was actually mocking the people who defend Polanski. People are pissed that he has so much influence over other people’s jobs. He himself needs to be fired from InfoWars, but that’s not going to happen, because they have zero standards over there.

It is true, but it is close to irrelevant who and why the person bring those tweet back to the spotlight to how they should be judged too. Because it is a full untrusty Internet person doing it and not a serious media, it is important to bring it up, just for:

 

1) People reading anything about it, to make sure it is true.

2) Make some effort to get the context (like the people trying to make it look like he was hosting some pedo video on is platform sent by someone  that pleaded guilty to own child pornography, don't read it and judge it, at least try the youtube link that is in the screenshot before judging.... you know this is a total alt-right hit piece going on.

 

But once those are said, cernovich being an a--hole is a well known fact and irrelevant to how one should perceived James Gunn action, it is just a sad bad effect to empower him, but if someone really think it is worthy of destroying someone career and character, should not matter from who the story started.

It's weird cause if you look at any stand up comedians output from 10-15 years ago, so much of their content would be considered absolutely unacceptable right now. Did anyone see the uproar about that Netflix TV show about the fat girl who takes revenge on her bullies? 10 years ago that would've been like an NBC primetime comedy pilot and would've flown under the radar. It's definitely a very fast changing environment about what's acceptable vs. not anymore.

But if James Gunn shouldn’t have a job anymore, neither should Mike Cernovich. That should be reasonable enough.

It had to have been because of the merger. Otherwise, this is just a dumb move on Disney’s part. If they had just sat and done nothing for a week it would’ve all blown over and the Twitter mob would’ve moved on and ruin someone else. And some of these tweets were from nine years ago? Are we supposed to pretend that Disney didn’t know about them and are suddenly offended? They didn’t care about awful jokes nine years ago and they shouldn’t have cared now.

 

On the other hand, as has been suggested, I wouldn’t mind Taika taking over. He seems to have the right sensibility for it. If that happens, they might slightly upgrade.

We have the same loonies in France now, infulenced by our dear english speaking SJWs & whatnots, a cancer that is spreading everywhere.

 

I observe the same situation in France, stand up comedians have become utterly pathetic & unfunny, all are avoiding the subjects forbidden by the Ministry of Truth.

 

What a shit show our societies have become.

Sad.

 

Joking about horrible things IS the MAIN reason humor exists, it allows us to decompress and take lightly horrible stuff just for a minute, to forget these horrible things do actually exist.

Any serious man of science that dabbled in psychology and psychiatry would explain this to you.

We MUST joke about TABOO subjects.

It is an imperative for our survival.

 

Let this insanity continue long enough and the backlash will be even more violent.

The difference is Alex Jones' Info Wars is built on and embraces the horrific things Cernovich says and does (he should be in prison for the thing's he's admitted not just fired)

I get that comedy central is not a family-oriented company but yeah... I'm not sure what should've been done in this instance. It just happened to gain stream at the most inconvenient time (despite the fact that it's literally been out in the open for years).
