SOTM 2 ~ an opportunity to do more second guessing! ~ deadline may 11th 11.59pm

Recommended Posts

So we have made our top 15 lists but still have nagging feelings about some of the films we included and some that we left out.

For this SOTM, you need to pick 4 films and rank them 1~4.

If your film MISSES the top 15 you win points.

If your film MAKES the top 15 you lose points.

SCORING

If your number 1 film does not make the top 15, score 1000 points per 2 million dollars the film grosses.

If your number 1 film finishes in the top 15 LOSE  600  points for every million more than the 16th placed film it makes

If your number 2 film does not make the top 15, score 750 points per 2 million dollars the film grosses.

If your number 2 film finishes in the top 15 LOSE 400  points for every million more than the 16th placed film it makes

If your number 3 film does not make the top 15, score 500 points per 2 million dollars the film grosses.

If your number 3 film finishes in the top 15 LOSE 250  points for every million more than the 16th placed film it makes

If your number 4 film does not make the top 15, score 250 points per 2 million dollars the film grosses.

If your number 4 film finishes in the top 15 LOSE 100  points for every million more than the 16th placed film it makes

if any of your choices finish in exactly 16th position, your score for that film will be doubled.

you can abstain for 3000 points

All final scores will be rounded up to the nearest 1000 points.

Deadline is 11.59pm on Thursday may 11th

No it's okay don't worry about explaining it more. I get it now. For some reason I just read it wrong. But I totally get it now.

what if you pick 4 films that you know will finish under 50M?  then you just score limited points because the grosses are low?

Yes, you could guarantee yourself points by picking 4 limited releases. You just would not score a lot. (Or anything if the film fails to make $2M.
