Those leaks completely destroyed Sony.
I really feel for them. We need those big studios, I don't want one to fail.

Every Studio had its time and innovations, when others lacked creativity. Imagine only Disney is left 10 years from here...

Disney, WB, Universal and Fox will surely survive. Sony and Paramount are dealing with some rocky weather but will be fine eventually.

This. I think everyone forgets that the hack did damage that is gonna take years for Sony to completely recover from. They were having a good run before the hack, they'll be back on a good run sooner than later.

I could see a situation where Sony decides to sell off its movie production studio. While getting picked up by one of the other Big Six is possible, I'd actually lean towards it getting scooped up by Amazon in such a case. (Less likely, but I suppose theoretically possible, is getting picked up by Netflix.) Even without, say, Bond, the back catalogue and distribution contacts would benefit Amazon Studios' efforts.

I think it's less likely that Viacom would sell off Paramount, but I suppose it's possible.

2017 and 2018 will be a major test year for Sony. They have a lot of potential franchises like Jumanji, Dark Tower, Emoji Movie and a cinematic universe without MCU Spider-Man. If all of those fail, it'll make it extremely harder for Sony to get out of their rut.

Or they can go back to making more prestige-y projects again. They had a great run earlier this decade in that department (The Social Network, Moneyball, Zero Dark Thirty, Captain Phillips, American Hustle; all of which were Best Picture nominees that made money).

Disney can survive off yearly merchandise sales from WDAS (Frozen and Disney Princesses), Pixar (Cars), Star Wars, and Marvel alone.

What is going to be the double feature with Cars 3???

Looking back, Alice 2 got a boost while Civil War behaved normal with Dory opening.

Looking back, Tomorrowland got a boost while Ultron behaved normal with Inside Out opening

BOTH OF THESE WERE MEMORIAL DAY OPENERS

....

Looking back, Iron Man 3 got a boost when Monsters University opened (the weekend after Father's Day), but that was the only other Disney release out.

Does this suggest Pirates??  Maybe BatB?  I try to google this but all i see is Mummy double feature Cars 3.  Baywatch double feature Cars 3.  Galaxy 2 feature Cars 3.  UGHHHHHHH

The Big Sick- 5

The Beguiled- 4

The Beguiled is gonna have a really big expansion the week after, it seems.

I think TF is getting over 4,000 theaters with the final number.
