It seems the site was offline for some hours. What happened?

Invision migrated our backups to another cloud server. It should speed up that process (which lately has been very slow -- it happens in the early morning hours, Pacific time).

Pretty good holds for most movies in terms of theater counts. TF5, Cars 3, All Eyez, The Mummy and Underpants losing the most theaters. WW only dropping 9% theaters.

As I suspected, Wonder Woman retained its theatres quite well (while other underperforming films lost most of the theatres). It is still above 3,000 theatres on its 6th weekend; even GOTG Vol. 2 dipped below 3,000 theatres on its 6th weekend.

Peace,

Mike

so wonder woman had the biggest wednesday drop among top 12? I don't expect WW to be that "holiday" sensitive....

mojo estimate:

  • Spider-Man: Homecoming (4,348 theaters) - $110 M
  • Despicable Me 3 (4,536 theaters) - $33.3 M
  • Baby Driver (3,226 theaters) - $15.1 M
  • Wonder Woman (3,091 theaters) - $10.2 M
  • Transformers: The Last Knight (3,241 theaters) - $7.9 M

they have wonder woman above $10m?? another sub 40% drop against SMH? this is too generous...

why is universal still adding theater to already record breaking release scope when the opening came in well below the tracking?

universal really like minion more than Fast and Furious......

their love for minions stems from the same reason disney whores out another cars movie this year

Here's something interesting.

Both Avengers and Jurassic World had their final 3000+ theater weekend in weekend 6 as well. They both pulled in a bit above $11m that weekend.

Avengers: Age of Ultron had its final 3000+ weekend in weekend 5... also about $11m.

Spider-Man ALSO had its final 3000+ theater weekend in weekend 6, and pulled in a bit above $10m.

I don't think that's really indicative of anything regarding Wonder Woman... all of those films had slightly more theaters (they were in the 3100-3300 range). But it does seem to indicate that, ignoring any other factors, a $10m+ weekend wouldn't be a surprise.
