The Odyssey: The Spoils of War - Official Soundtrack Description

Similar to his score in The Lord of the Rings, Howard Shore uses a full orchestra/band and a female/male choir for the majority of the score. The battle scenes are mostly brass/percussion based with a men’s choir in the background. Like LotR, there are several leitmotifs used for individual characters and settings. Odysseus’ theme is mainly performed using a violin with other background string instruments. The theme for Ithaca is performed by a pan flute and a harp, evoking a peaceful feel. In contrast, Poseidon’s theme (used during the scene where he is comforting a dying Polyphemus) has sort of threatening vibe, using a men’s choir and a brass section. His entrance and exit in that scene along with the storm scene is similar to the Isengard theme for LotR.

Here’s a sneak peek at God Of War involving Kratos’ fight against the fearsome Hydra.

Spoiler

A loud thunderous crash is heard outside, the ground starts to shake and the ocean howls with pain. Kratos and the patrons of the bar rushes out to see the commotion going on outside. The Hydra spits out big balls of water onto the shore killing or maiming numerous bystanders even the bartender who Kratos saves just in time. Kratos dives into the water, swimming at superhuman speeds, approaches the Hydra. The Hydra lets out a fearsome roar, and uses one of it’s many heads to attack Kratos, but spilts the head into two halves just in time. Diving quickly using Guerilla tactics, Kratos using his blades stab the Hydra in the gut and climbs up the Hydra using his blades. The Hydra uses its numerous heads to attempt to knock Kratos off in the ocean. Kratos runs on the neck causing each head to crash and bite into the neck causing the neck to fall off. Kratos attempts to use his blades to grab onto a neck but gets headbutted into the ocean. Leaping out, Kratos gets swallowed whole by one of the heads, only for Kratos to cut off the Hydra’s head from the inside. Coated with green blood, Kratos makes another slice at the beast, taking out another head. However the beast forms numerous replacement heads much to Kratos’s chargin. Kratos running on the necks of the beast, manages to get the heads all tied together leaving just the main head. Kratos kicks the ball of heads in the main Hydra head’s mouth and slices the head off. Swimming back to the shore with the Hydra’s head in his hand, the bartender in awe with Kratos, is approached by him asking for a drink to go.

'AMITYVILLE NIGHTMARE II' COMING NEXT HALLOWEEN

Following the excellent opening of Red Crescent Pictures' The Amityville Nightmare - the highest horror opening since The SCP Foundation in early Y1 - the label's head Xander Newton has confirmed a sequel is already in development for release on October 25th, Y3. It will allegedly be the middle chapter of a trilogy, with the third film to come out sometime between October Y4 and May Y5. Newton confirms some actors were already signed to three-film contracts. Lee Pace will be returning for part two as Lt. Jerome Steinberg, taking on a larger role. Also confirmed to return are Tony Goldwyn as supporting character Chief Carr and Anne Heche as Alice May Chambers, albeit in what Newton calls "a significantly reduced role."

Newton claims the sequel will go in a somewhat different direction than the film now in theatres, expanding the mythology and setting up the climactic third entry.

"We don't want to make the same movie three times," he said. "The first film adapted the book, which was meant to have sequels but never did. That gives us a lot of freedom to come up with our own ways to answer that story's lingering questions, and to build on some of the surviving characters."

David F. Sandberg, who directed The Amityville Nightmare, is already hard at work on The Exorcism of Jessica Winters for a planned January release. In his absence, Red Crescent have recruited Eden Lake and The Woman in Black director James Watkins.

Endless Entertainment is developing a sequel to Treasure Planet for November Y4, tentatively titled: “Treasure Planet: Gauntlet Of Midas”. Taika Waititi and the original cast is to return. Tom Hardy to star as the villainous Ironbeard, and Tessa Thompson stars as Katelyn.

@endlessentertainment - We are pleasantly pleased to announce that Treasure Planet broke the November OW record, our analysts say it should reach $200M domestic.

Er... what record? The November OW record is $158.07 million. Unless you mean just in CAYOM 3.0 and since we're only in Year 2... ;)

When you adjust for inflation, Planets OW is $210M OW.

I meant CAYOM 3.0. but I know it won’t hold up for long. Maybe Treasure Planet 2 can break the record again if something from Y3 breaks the record.

What inflation? Inflation is what happens to ticket prices going forward, i.e., a ticket in 2018 costs more than in 2008. If anything CAYOM Y2 is equivalent to this year, 2018, so there is no inflation >.>

@XanderNewtonRC: 'Amityville Nightmare' hits DVD, Blu-ray, UHD and digital in February Y3. The Blu-ray, UHD disc, and some digital providers will have a new Extended Director's Cut to address pacing issues. 137 minutes. We were worried about the public coming out to see an epic-length horror.
