The Close Encounters re-release is actually at around 25K more than last weekend's All Saints for Thursday previews... in around 40 theaters less. Which is something that one is probably not sure whether to laugh or cry about.

That's a very old movie with not much interest.

Close Encounters isn't a franchise/fanboy movie, but fuck it all if it isn't an influential sci-fi classic. It makes perfect sense to re-release it in 4K quality in the 40th anniversary of its release, ESPECIALLY if there's absolutely nothing else out there like this weekend. It doesn't need fucking toys to warrant a limited return to theaters. And it's probably gonna do more than T2 3D... isn't Terminator a far more fanboy driven franchise?
