Sony has truly put out some garbage. my favorite and my most hated animations both are from them.

If you are familiar with Gennedy or have seen cartoons like Dexter's Lab/Samurai Jack, then you'll like this. It has enough madcap entertainment to make it fun. The first one is definitely better than the second.

I keep forgetting Sony has put out some Aardman movies themselves. They seem enjoyable, but for some reason, I never went out of my way to watch Aardman stuff. I've only seen Chicken Run in middle school, and have a good memory of it, but I haven't seen it since. Besides that, only the Shaun The Sheep Movie, which is very fun. I've never seen Wallace & Gromit, believe it or not.

 

And yeah, the Hotel Transylvania flicks are fun too. They're among Genndy Tartakovsky's lesser material (obviously they are outclassed by Dexter's Lab, Samurai Jack and The Clone Wars), but they're still better than some storytelling minds' best material.

Dexter's Lab is on another level imo.

 

Definitely one of the top 20 tv cartoons of all time.

I'm actually not an Illumination hater. I think DM1 is awesome, DM2 and DM3 are very solid, Minions and Pets are okay. Haven't seen their other ones. With Blue Sky, I actually think that Ice Age 1 is quite underrated. That's a absolutely fantastic film IMO. The sequels got continually worse, though.

Ice Age 1 truly is underrated. It has been badly rehashed so many times in sequels that the novelty is diluted, but the first time I saw IA1 felt it was a wonderful film. The characterizations, the species they picked and the actors were perfect. They went back in a setting centuries old something mainstream animations that time be it DW or Pixar were not doing. Most importantly the movie's emotional pull and pacing were itself top-notch. No wonder it launched a behemoth of a franchise and people kept on going back to it despite the 2nd film itself being a big let down.

very good way to sum up the quality of the sequels. i saw 3 sequels - ia2,3,4.

i know the 3rd one had dinos and remember one character distinctly : the one eyed weasel. but otherwise can't say which is which.

all 3 sequels equally forgettable.

Ice Age 2 and 3 are guilty pleasure and are better movies than 4/5 of the DM franchise.

In regards to Grinch, the live action film itsnt great so they really can’t do worse. 

 

Aardman hasn’t been released many films but they have been good to great. Their weakest film is Flushed Away but DWA meddled with that. Their best film is still Chicken Run

Theater updates:

 

Kingsman in XD is selling poorly so far.  12:20 PM is about 30% full and each show afterward has hardly any tickets sold.  Regular shows, 2:10 and 5:20 PM shows are selling pretty well.  Each are about 30-40% full.  The two other shows at 10:50 AM and 8:40 PM have a few seats sold.

 

It at 11:30 AM is nearly full.  Each showtime after has sold anywhere from about 50% full to 2 tickets.

 

Ninjago in 3D has sold well for the 12:40 PM show.  3:20 show is empty though, and 6:10 and 8:50 have each sold 4 tickets and 1 ticket respectively.  Regular shows, 11:10 AM and 1:50 PM shows are nearly full.  4:40 is about halfway full.  7:20 and 10:00 have both sold nothing.

 

American Ass has sold 10 tickets across 9 showtimes.

 

mother! has sold 5 tickets for its 11:20 AM and 2:30 showtimes.  Everything after that is empty.

 

Annabelle has sold 2 tickets for 11 AM.  Everything after that is empty.

 

Girls Trip is dead.
