Wondy kinda loses a bit of steam for me in the third act when it goes all spectacle and kind of undercuts its own awesome twist that they just put in play.

The third act is definitely the worst, but now I'm just there for Chris Pine heroics and David Thewlis ham and I can enjoy it more than I did than the first viewing. First time I saw it, I was like  dahell2.png

Same here. First time I saw it in theaters, I was just baffled.

But I learned to liked it, mostly because of Steves sacrifice. If that scene wasn't in it, I don't think I would've found the final battle redeeming.

I hope so, but that had the benefit of summer days and Father's Day second weekend

I understand but aren’t fall movies in general more leggy than Summer films? Edge of Tomorrow had a lot of competition in June and still managed great legs. Blade Runner doesn’t really have until Thor Ragnarok, a month later.

I'm pretty sure I know what #1 is gonna be at the end of the year. I keep seeing other films and being like "oh that was Hella good maybe it'll  take #1" but after giving it time I always come back to this one so unless something really blows me out of the water here at the end of the year it'll  probably be that one

i'll throw out a top 5 which would be blade runner, ghost story, raw, nocturama, dunkirk. sort of embarrassed i've got both villeneuve and nolan in there. time to banish myself to /r/movies.

A Ghost Story hasn't really sat that well with me. I saw it at the beginning of August and it just kept getting overshadowed by movies I liked more.
